My name is Mrs. Worley, and I am the librarian at Hearn Elementary. I have a bachelors degree in elementary education from UK, as well as a maters degree in library science from EKU. In my free time, I enjoy reading (of course!), spending time with my family, and traveling.

Vision
The library is the core of the school where teachers, students, and families should feel welcome to read, collaborate, learn, and create together. Students will be provided digital, print, and hands on resources to meet their academic and personal needs. The collection will reflect both teacher and student input, ensuring that a broad range of ideas, topics, and beliefs are represented.
Mission
The mission of the Hearn library is to help students become effective users of information through the use of digital and print resources. Students will work with classmates, teachers, and community members to utilize technology to broaden and creatively demonstrate their knowledge. Students will use these skills to become lifelong learners. Additionally, students will be introduced to a wide range of literature and encouraged to read a variety of genres in order to help students develop a love for leisure reading.

Encourage students to try new books & find joy in leisure reading
Access print, digital, and community resources to find information
Discover new technologies & use them creatively to find information & demonstrate knowledge
Checkout & Overdue Books Policy
Students may check out up to two (2) books at one time and keep them for two weeks. Students will have the ability to renew their book(s) one time for an additional two weeks. If a book is not returned by its due date, it will be considered overdue. Classroom teachers and parents will periodically be made aware of overdue materials.
Schedule
The Hearn library operates on a primarily fixed schedule. Students will visit the library one to two times weekly as part of their enrichment program.
